DWS Driver Training – Services & Prices
The Services & Prices page forms part of the information provided to pupils regarding current pricing.

- Standard driving lessons
- 10-hour lesson packages
- Mock tests
- Car use for practical driving tests
- Pass Plus
- Motorway and refresher training

The duration of each service will be stated when the service is booked.
DWS Driver Training will maintain accurate records of lessons and training hours provided.
4. Progress & Training
Driving tuition will be tailored to the pupil’s individual needs, ability and experience, with road safety as the priority.
The instructor will:
- Monitor and record pupil progress.
- Provide appropriate feedback during lessons.
- Explain areas requiring further development.
- Advise pupils when additional training may be beneficial.
- Prepare pupils for independent driving and, where appropriate, the practical driving test.
Pupils are expected to participate actively in their learning and follow reasonable safety instructions given by the instructor.
The instructor will not deliberately provide unnecessarily short lessons or reduce the amount of tuition paid for.
5. Cancellations & Rescheduling by Pupils
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
Where less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, or where a pupil does not attend a booked lesson, DWS Driver Training reserves the right to charge the full lesson fee.
Exceptional circumstances will be considered reasonably and on a case-by-case basis.
Where a pupil is unable to attend because they are unwell or otherwise not fit to drive safely, they should notify the instructor as soon as possible.
Repeated cancellations or missed lessons may result in future lessons being offered subject to availability or payment in advance.
6. Instructor Cancellations
DWS Driver Training may occasionally need to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to circumstances including:
- Illness
- Vehicle problems
- Severe weather
- Traffic or road closures
- Emergencies
- Driving-test-related circumstances
- Other unforeseen circumstances beyond the instructor’s reasonable control
Where the instructor cancels a lesson, reasonable efforts will be made to rearrange it at a mutually convenient time.
If a lesson cannot be rearranged, any payment made specifically for that lesson will be refunded.
7. Punctuality
Pupils are expected to arrive on time and be ready to begin their lesson at the agreed time.
If a pupil arrives late, the lesson will normally still finish at the originally agreed time so that subsequent appointments are not affected.
Repeated lateness may affect the availability of future bookings.
DWS Driver Training will make reasonable efforts to start lessons on time. Where the instructor is unavoidably delayed, the pupil will be informed where reasonably possible.
8. Fitness to Drive & Behaviour
Pupils must be fit to drive safely at every lesson.
A lesson may be stopped or refused if the instructor reasonably believes that the pupil is:
- Under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Affected by medication or another substance in a way that makes driving unsafe.
- Too tired or unwell to drive safely.
- Behaving aggressively, abusively or in a manner that creates a safety concern.
No refund will normally be provided where a lesson has to be stopped because of a pupil’s unsafe behaviour or lack of fitness to drive.
DWS Driver Training expects all pupils to treat the instructor with courtesy and respect.
9. Professional Boundaries & Safeguarding
DWS Driver Training is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and professional learning environment.
Professional boundaries will be maintained at all times.
Discrimination, threatening or intimidating behaviour, harassment, inappropriate language or unnecessary physical contact will not be tolerated.
Communication outside lessons should remain appropriate and professional.
Where a pupil is under 18 or otherwise vulnerable, appropriate safeguarding considerations will apply.
10. Driving Tests & Test Readiness
The pupil is responsible for booking their own practical driving test.
The instructor cannot book, change, swap or cancel a practical driving test on behalf of a pupil.
The instructor may provide guidance regarding suitable test dates and their own availability.
Before a pupil takes a practical test, DWS Driver Training will consider whether the pupil has reached an appropriate standard of readiness.
This may include consideration of:
- Independent driving ability.
- Hazard awareness and planning.
- Appropriate speed and control.
- Observation and judgement.
- Manoeuvres.
- Independent decision-making.
- Ability to deal safely with a range of road and traffic conditions.
- Mock-test performance.
- Consistency without instructor prompting.
Where the instructor believes that a pupil is not ready, the instructor may recommend postponing the test and undertaking further training.
A pupil remains responsible for deciding whether to proceed with their test.
Pupils should know the location of their test centre, arrive in good time and have the required documentation.
Where appropriate, DWS Driver Training may recommend undertaking a mock test, including with another instructor.
The instructor will agree with the pupil beforehand whether they will accompany the pupil during the practical test.
The instructor will not interfere with or distract the pupil during the test and will behave professionally at the test centre.
11. Instructor Vehicle for Practical Tests
Where a pupil purchases car use for a practical driving test, the vehicle will be provided subject to:
- Vehicle availability.
- The vehicle being roadworthy, legal and appropriately insured.
- The pupil being legally entitled to drive it.
- The pupil being sufficiently prepared to use the vehicle safely.
- The pupil’s account being up to date.
The current price for practical test car use is published on the DWS Driver Training Services & Prices page.
View current test-car and lesson prices
DWS Driver Training reserves the right not to provide the vehicle for a test where there is a genuine safety, legal, insurance or suitability concern.
Payment for test-car use does not guarantee that a pupil will pass the practical driving test.
12. Instructor Badge & Vehicle Safety
The instructor’s DVSA Approved Driving Instructor badge will be displayed in the vehicle when paid instruction is being provided.
The vehicle will be maintained in a roadworthy, legal and appropriately insured condition.
The vehicle will have the appropriate additional interior rear-view mirror and learner plates where required.
The vehicle will be kept reasonably clean and free from unnecessary loose objects that could create a safety risk.
13. Mobile Phones & Electronic Devices
The instructor will not use a mobile phone or hand-held device while instructing in a moving vehicle.
The instructor will not take or receive calls, including hands-free calls, while providing instruction.
Where a tablet or other device is required to record progress or display learning material, the vehicle will first be parked safely and the engine switched off where appropriate.
Pupils are also expected to follow reasonable instructions regarding mobile phones and other distractions during lessons.
14. Block Bookings & Lesson Packages
Where lessons are purchased as part of a block booking or package, the pupil will receive the number of lessons or hours specified at the time of purchase.
Where a package includes a discounted rate, the discounted rate applies on the basis that the package is completed as agreed.
If a pupil ends a package early, DWS Driver Training may recalculate lessons already taken at the applicable standard lesson rate. Any remaining balance will then be considered for refund.
Any refund will take account of:
- Lessons already provided.
- The standard lesson price where applicable.
- Any services already supplied.
- Any outstanding amounts owed by the pupil.
DWS Driver Training will not retain payment for lessons that have not been provided where a refund is due.
15. Payments Made in Advance
Where payment is made in advance, DWS Driver Training will maintain an accurate record of the payment and the lessons or services to which it relates.
Advance payments will be used only for the services agreed with the pupil.
Any unused balance will be dealt with in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and applicable consumer rights.
16. Practical Test Cancellations, Delays & Changes
DWS Driver Training is not responsible for test cancellations, rearrangements, delays or changes made by the DVSA.
Where a test is cancelled or rearranged by the DVSA, the pupil remains responsible for managing the new appointment.
Any lesson or vehicle hire specifically arranged for a test that cannot proceed will be dealt with according to the circumstances and the cancellation terms applicable at the time.
17. Personal Data & Privacy
DWS Driver Training will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data-protection legislation.
Personal information will be collected, stored, used and disposed of appropriately and securely.
Information provided by pupils will be treated as confidential, except where disclosure is required by law, necessary for safeguarding, or otherwise permitted by applicable legislation.
Further information is available in the DWS Driver Training Privacy Policy.

18. Marketing, Photos, Videos & Reviews
DWS Driver Training may ask pupils to provide testimonials, reviews, photographs or videos following lessons or a driving test.
Any pupil information, photograph or video used for promotional or marketing purposes will only be used where the pupil has provided explicit written consent.
Where a pupil provides ongoing marketing consent as part of their initial booking or pupil agreement, that consent may apply to future agreed marketing use without DWS Driver Training having to request permission separately for every individual post.
Marketing consent is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving driving lessons.
Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting DWS Driver Training.
Withdrawal of consent will not affect lawful use that took place before the withdrawal.
Where applicable, pupils may separately choose whether they consent to:
- Photographs being used.
- Videos being used.
- Their first name being used.
- Their driving test result being mentioned.
- Their testimonial or review being reproduced.
- Content being published on the DWS Driver Training website.
- Content being published on DWS Driver Training social-media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
DWS Driver Training will not imply that a pupil must provide a positive review or testimonial.
Any review or testimonial used for marketing will represent the pupil’s genuine experience and will not be materially altered in a misleading way.
19. Pass Rate Advertising
Where DWS Driver Training advertises a pass-rate figure, the method used to calculate the figure will be explained.
DWS Driver Training’s advertised pass rate is calculated using recorded practical driving test results from pupils who have taken their practical driving test with DWS Driver Training during the preceding 24-month period.
The percentage is calculated by comparing the number of practical driving tests passed with the total number of practical driving tests taken during that period.
The figure may be updated periodically as further test results are recorded.
Pass-rate figures are based on recorded results available to DWS Driver Training and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of an individual pupil’s test result.
20. Complaints
DWS Driver Training aims to resolve any concerns quickly, fairly and professionally.
If a pupil has a complaint or concern, they should contact:
DWS Driver Training
Telephone: 07462 819 078
Email: dwsdrivertraining@gmail.com
The complaint should explain the issue and, where possible, include relevant dates and details.
DWS Driver Training will consider complaints promptly and make reasonable efforts to resolve them.
A record of complaints and their resolution may be maintained where appropriate.
21. Liability
DWS Driver Training will take reasonable care to provide driving instruction safely and professionally.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable statutory consumer rights.
DWS Driver Training cannot be responsible for circumstances outside its reasonable control, including unexpected road closures, severe weather, traffic incidents, DVSA test cancellations or other unforeseen events.
22. Emergencies
The instructor will take reasonable steps to deal with emergencies arising during lessons and will seek appropriate assistance where necessary.
DWS Driver Training will maintain appropriate knowledge of emergency procedures and may undertake relevant first-aid or emergency-care training.
23. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
DWS Driver Training may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, DVSA requirements, business practices or services.
The latest version will be made available to pupils.
Where a significant change affects an existing booking or contractual arrangement, the pupil will be informed where appropriate.
24. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the applicable courts and consumer-protection laws of England and Wales.
