Professional Training
Driving Instructor Training – Part 2 & Part 3
DWS Driver Training offers professional ADI qualification training for those looking to become DVSA Approved Driving Instructors. Part 2 prepares you for the advanced driving test — covering hazard awareness, control and driving competence. Part 3 develops your teaching skills, lesson planning and real-world instructional ability. All training is tailored to you individually.

HGV & LGV Driving Classes
HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) and LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) are the same licence — just different names. DWS deals in both types of licences and trains you to acquire your licence through our professional DVSA Approved Instructors.
Licence Categories:
- LGV C+E = HGV Class 1 – up to 44 tonnes
- LGV C = HGV Class 2 – up to 32 tonnes
- LGV C1 = over 3.5 up to 7.5 tonne (C1+E with trailer)
If you passed after January 1997 and are over 18, you can go straight to LGV C (HGV Class 2) without taking LGV C1 first.
Training Steps:
- Step 1: LGV medical test
- Step 2: Computerised theory test (Module 1)
- Step 3: LGV practical test (Module 3)
- Step 4: Initial CPC (Module 2)
- Step 5: CPC Demonstration (Module 4)
Access is provided to a large off-road training area for practice, including the reversing exercise required on the Driving Test. We train for high competency — not just to pass the test.
All Module 3 Practical exams are conducted via DWS at a DVSA Driving Test centre. Our DVSA Approved Instructors will ensure thorough knowledge of the local area and test location.
